Fequently Asked Questions How does interest-free work?  Interest-free means you will not have to pay any interest on the purchase amount financed during the promotional period (e.g. 6, 12, 24 months).  You will be required to make minimum monthly payments of 3% or $20 (whichever is the greater) through the promotional period.   What does ‘interest-free payment deferred’ mean? As well as having the advantage of not being charged any interest for the specific promotional period, you also do not need to make any repayments on that specific promotion for the deferred period (e.g. 6 months).   If I don’t pay out the total amount owing by the end of the promotional period, will the interest be backdated to the start of the promotion? No, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) will only be charged to the remaining promotional balance from the day after the promotion expires.   How often do I make repayments? Repayments are monthly except for purchases made in any payment deferred promotion periods.  Repayments for these purchases will commence from the expiry of the payment deferred promotion.  Any minimum payment and the due date will be shown on your monthly statement.   Are there any penalties for early repayments? No, there are no penalties for early repayments.   What information do I need to apply? In most cases we just need some identification.  This will include one form of photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, and two other forms of ID, such as a Medicare card and a debit or credit card.  You will also need to provide other details, such as income, debits and expenses.
