Federal Government Rebate
The Federal Government Hot Water rebate is no longer means tested now EVERYONE can get a new solar hot water system! Rebates of $1,600 are available to install solar and heat pump hot water systems to replace electric storage hot water systems in existing privately owned homes. This offer expires February 2012.To be eligible to claim this rebate the new solar or heat pump hot water system must:
- Replace an existing electric storage hot water system
- Be a solar or heat pump hot water system eligible for at least 20 RECS
- Be purchased and installed after the announcement date (3 Feb 09)
- Be installed in a dwelling that is a principle place of residence for the person claiming the rebate.
